📝 Abstract
[copied from YouTube video Description] From my experiences with Simulated Workplace, this is what I now know. The learning environment in most public schools, Is set by educators with many, many rules. Students sit in rows, told what classes to take. What to wear, what to eat—very few decisions for them to make. Policy makers and educators, they make all the choices, And rarely, so rarely, is there opportunity for student voices. “Preparing students for the future” is a lofty goal all educators share, But the truth is that EMPOWERMENT is the only way all students get there. Schools then become a place for ideas and dreams, where students learn and they grow. A place where students are accountable, because they are the ones who truly know. Their interests, their hopes, and their dreams—it’s all in their heads We shouldn’t think we have the answers, we should listen to them instead. We should nurture, mentor, and facilitate their learning. Not determine, decide, dictate—possibly limit their potential earnings They are the tomorrow—they’re the doers, the thinkers, the discoverers, and so much more. EMPOWERMENT—it will unlock their unique door!
