What we do
Core Mission Practi.City serves as a collaborative, open-contribution community, knowledge hub, and code repository dedicated to promoting and advancing experiential learning as the premier method for acquiring professional skills.
Key Goals
- Curates an Open-Source Knowledge Base: It catalogs and deeply describes open-source experiential learning simulation tools (such as JaamSim and NetLogo) and experiential learning methodologies (such as Practice Firms and advanced role-play).
- Shares Community Stories: It blogs about and highlights the organizations, initiatives, and people that actively use these tools and methodologies in the real world.
- Develops Open-Source Code: It publishes, shares, and maintains code that extends existing simulation software (like JaamSim or DWSIM) and builds interfaces that connect these various solutions together.
- Integrates AI: It promotes new AI practices and explores how artificial intelligence expands the possibilities of experiential learning and simulation.
- Establishes a Universal Manifesto: It provides a foundational set of rules and principles that allow users to seamlessly combine their respective experiential learning paths and share them collaboratively.
Structure & Governance
- Licensing: All resources and code are freely available for both commercial and non-commercial use, with the sole requirement of proper attribution to PRACTI.CITY.
- Hosting: The platform and all its publications are hosted efficiently and transparently on GitHub Pages.
- Management: A French non-profit organization (Association Loi 1901) based in Lyon, France, hosts and manages the community and platform.
The Legal Stuff
Practi.City is a NON PROFIT ORGANISATION registered in Lyon, France under the name Assocation EASE “Practi.City” since may 2026 placed under the ‘1901 law’ (loi de 1901, yes this is a long time ago)
It is animated by a team of enthusiasts volunteers Alexandre, Eric and Thierry who dedicate some of their (precious) free time to contribute by managing the Association (representation, accounting, IT,…)
